As you gently pull the card from the base, the box opens into two layers: the upper tray cradles the cutest-ever roli and chawal pouches shaped like tiny flower pots, while the lower tray holds the rakhi, waiting.

When the festival winds down, the Whorlwind keeps going. Soak the rakhi overnight, plant it in soft soil, water it with patience, and let it sprout into herbs, flowers or vegetables, depending on the batch. Storms pass. This one takes root.
